Call, Don't Email

If you didn't yet realize, my cell phone number is at the top of my CV. Please do NOT email me three hours before I'm supposed to leave for an interview in order to change the location. It is very unprofessional.

And what if I hadn't checked my email when I did - because I had already checked it, or because I check it in the early afternoon? So then I would have gone to the wrong place? And then what?

Please don't waste my time. If you have a last minute, unprofessional, move to make - at least do not consider it confirmed until I let you know that I received your message. Don't "ask me" - aka tell me - and then say thank you for my agreeing, even though I have not received your message.

If I don't see a good reason to work with you, I think that simply on the basis of this, I might just turn this job down.

Oh - and emailing me yesterday morning asking if an interview yesterday at 1:00 would work - is very unprofessional as well. I don't mind spontaneous interviews. But if you'd like to meet at one TODAY, then pick up my phone - you have my number - and call.

You'd better agree to me taking Mondays off and working Fridays instead, and you'd also better be paying something worth the headache I think I'm getting into. At one point, I thought maybe I could leave early on Mondays instead of just taking the day off - but now I'm not so sure it'll work, and besides for that, I'm not sure that I need to be making compromises with so unprofessional a company.

True, I need a job. But you know what? I'm qualified enough that I think I'll find a job worth doing. And if yours isn't - so be it.
